The orquestra CONEXION LATINA was founded in 1980. And as the name implied "CONEXION LATINA" is and orchesra formed with musicians of diferents Latin american nationalities; Venezuelan, Cuban, Peruvian, Puertorrican, Jamaican, giving the band a unique sound.

The band has his own unique sond. This sound come from combining the Afro-caribbean rhythm and Jazz harmonies. We call this musical genre LATIN-JAZZ-SALSA.

Also CONEXION LATINA sound is attributed to the musical arrangements done by many well known LATIN-JAZZ-SALSA arrangers such as Luis Garcia (Puerto Rico), Eddi Martinez (Colombia), Marty Sheller (USA), Gil Lopez (Puerto Rico), Albero Naranjo (Venezuela), José Febles (Puerto Rico); Oscar Hernandez (Puerto Rico).

The orquestra recorded their first album in 1984 named "CALORCITO".

Since then they have produced, recorded and been involved in many music projects.

Some of CONEXION LATINA guest musicians on their recording are Benie Bailey, Bobby Stern, Bobby Shew, Dusko Goykovich, Adria Miers, just to name a few.
